Jason W. Cohenour
Chief Executive Officer
Jason Cohenour has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Wireless, Inc. since October 2005. Jason joined Sierra Wireless in 1996 as Vice President of Sales, and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales in 2000. He served as Chief Operating Officer from August 2004 to October 2005 leading global sales, marketing and operations activities. Active in the development of the wireless data industry since 1988, Jason was previously Regional Vice President with Ram Mobile Data. Jason began his wireless career in 1988 with Motorola's Mobile Data Division, where he helped establish Motorola as a leading provider of wireless data solutions. Jason also serves as an independent director on the board of Epic Data Inc. (TSX: EKD). (TSX: EKD).
David McLennan
Chief Financial Officer
David McLennan joined the Company in March 2004 as Chief Financial Officer and Secretary. Prior to joining Sierra Wireless, David spent approximately 10 years in a variety of senior management positions within the BCE group of companies. He served with Bell Canada as Chief Financial Officer and with Bell ExpressVu initially as Chief Financial Officer and subsequently as President and Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in his career, David spent a number of years in the investment business as a research analyst at Nesbitt Thomson. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University.
James B. Kirkpatrick
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer Jim is responsible for the Company's intellectual property portfolio, technology roadmap and relationships with key technology partners, while continuing to lead an experienced engineering team in the development of advanced wireless products spanning 3G and 4G air interfaces. Jim brings over two decades of experience in communications equipment design to the Company, with emphasis on developing wireless products for markets worldwide. Jim joined the Company as Senior Vice President Engineering in 2003. Prior to joining Sierra Wireless, Jim was Senior Vice President Engineering for AirPrime, Inc. from 2000 to 2002, then CEO from 2002 until 2003. Prior to AirPrime, Jim spent seven years at Denso International America, Inc. as Vice President of Wireless Technologies and Senior Hardware Director. He also spent eight years at Hughes Aircraft Co. as Senior RF Staff Engineer, where he spearheaded advanced R&D of spaceborne frequency synthesizers and receivers for DoD applications. Jim holds a BSEE from California State University Fresno, as well as an MSEE and an EEE from the University of Southern California.
Bill Dodson
Senior Vice President, Operations
Bill Dodson is Senior Vice President, Operations for Sierra Wireless. Bill has overall responsibility for the Company's operations including manufacturing and supply as well as customer service. Bill has a strong background in computer industry supply chain management and business models. Prior to joining Sierra Wireless, Bill was Vice President of Global Operations for Gateway Computers where he was responsible for strategic planning, development and implementation of global manufacturing and supply chain programs. He previously worked with Toshiba America Information Systems as Director of Operations - Desktop and Server manufacturing, and as Director of Business Planning.
Dan Schieler
Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Dan Schieler is Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Sierra Wireless, responsible for leading global sales, distribution and pre-sales technical support functions. Dan joined the Company as Vice President of North American Sales in 2003. Prior to joining Sierra Wireless, Dan was Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for AirPrime, responsible for driving AirPrime's sales strategy, and managing a highly experienced international sales team focused on developing customer relationships with AirPrime OEM partners around the world. Dan brings 15 years of sales, marketing and business development experience in the personal computing and wireless communications industries to his position at Sierra Wireless. His extensive experience as an international OEM sales and marketing leader includes positions as AirPrime's Senior Director of OEM Sales and Strategic Partnerships, and Director of OEM Sales for the Central and Eastern United States. Prior to joining AirPrime, Dan worked for Xircom's OEM division where he managed accounts with top-tier OEM computing manufacturers.
Trent Punnett
Senior Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Development
Trent Punnett leads Marketing and Corporate Development for Sierra Wireless, with responsibility for global marketing and product management, business and product strategy and strategic partnerships. Prior to joining Sierra Wireless, Trent spent 14 years in senior positions with Motorola Inc. in Vancouver, Chicago, and San Diego leading marketing, product management, business development and sales functions. During his career at Motorola, Trent worked with wireless data, cellular infrastructure, voice over IP, WiFi, broadband cable and DSL technologies, and he has significant experience in international markets and with major wireless and wireline telecom customers. Previous to Motorola, Trent was involved in the management consulting and commercial banking industries. Trent holds a Master of Science, Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
Stephen Blaine
Senior Vice President, Engineering
Steve joined Sierra Wireless in 1999 as Director of GSM Product Development. In 2002 Steve was appointed Vice President, Engineering and was responsible for GPRS, EDGE, UMTS development and CDPD support activities. Steve brings over 25 years of engineering and development leadership experience to his position, including management roles with Mitel, Glenayre Electronics, PMC Sierra, Starvision Multimedia (A Newbridge Affiliate) and Motorola's Mobile Data Division.
Andrew Berman
Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile and M2M
Andrew Berman is responsible for the company's Mobile and M2M product line and business. Andrew comes to Sierra Wireless from AirLink Communications, where he spent nearly three years as Chief Executive Officer before the company was acquired by Sierra Wireless in May 2007. While at AirLink, Andrew led the company through a period of strong growth and helped establish the company as a leader in high value fixed and mobile wireless data solutions for industrial and public safety applications. Before joining AirLink, Andrew was an Executive Director in America Online’s Business Affairs unit, where he structured, negotiated and managed strategic alliances with high visibility clients including the NFL, MLB Advanced Media, NASCAR, the NBA, CNN and Sports Illustrated. Andrew received a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Prior to his move into corporate management, he practiced law for eleven years in San Francisco.
